Due to changes in Covid-19 restrictions services and events are subject to change at short notice. The best place for the latest information is the Team Churches' website. The site also gives contact details for the clergy and church officers. To join the online events go to the Team Churches' website and follow the links.
Gift Day: There won't be a St Andrew's Gift Day Coffee Morning in church this year but envelopes will be distributed throughout the parish. A special appeal is being made for the clock repairs. The damage is such that the tower area of the church is unusable until essential repairs are carried out.
Welcome to St Andrew's
Halberton is a large village about 3 miles from the Mid Devon market town of Tiverton. St Andrew's Church is located near the centre of the village and is conspicuous with its magnificent tower and clock. We offer a warm invitation to visitors and newcomers to the area to join us in worship, or just to come and look around our historic place of worship and admire the 14th-century nave with its famous rood-screen, pulpit and Norman font.
Halberton parish is in the diocese of Exeter and part of the Sampford Peverell Team of parishes. Our Team Rector is the Revd Glyn Lewry.
Services and Events
Regular services in St Andrew's are The Eucharist, Morning Prayer and Holy Communion. As part of Churches Together In Halberton we are joined once a month by Halberton Methodists and once a month we join them in their chapel or the village hall.
When there is a fifth Sunday in the month the six parishes of the Sampford Peverell Team unite for a Team Eucharist held in turn in one of their churches.
Each of the churches within The Sampford Peverell Team Mission Community fully recognizes and accepts the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Policy Statement “Promoting a Safer Church 2017” and commits to complying with the current Church of England and Diocesan safeguarding policies and practice guidance. In so doing we will comply with the secular multi-agency safeguarding procedures relating to children and young people and adults experiencing or at risk of harm, abuse or neglect.
The full Safeguarding Policy for St Andrew's Halberton is on our Safeguarding Page.
