The Newsletter Status: The Newsletter Working Group is a stand-alone working group of Halberton Parish Council and is bound by its rules and regulations.
The "Terms of Reference" (PDF) document has a section dedicated to the Newsletter and is available to download from the website.
Objective of the Newsletter:
The objective of the Newsletter Committee is to produce and publish the Halberton Newsletter (‘The Newsletter’) and is part of Halberton Parish Council’s commitment to provide easy access to information to Halberton's residents and businesses. The Newsletter also encompasses a Business Directory for advertisers to advertise their services, to generate advertising revenue as a funding stream to off-set the publication costs of the Newsletter and other publications that supports the aims of the Newsletter.
Newsletter Committee Meetings: Meetings are held throughout the year at Halberton Village Hall.
An agenda for each meeting will be published and advertised on the Halberton Village Hall,
Brithem Bottom, Ash Thomas and Halberton Farmshop notice boards, and on the Halberton website.
Printing and Distribution: The Newsletter is printed by a printer chosen by competitive tender. Approximately 850 copies of the Newsletter and Directory are distributed from Halberton Village Hall by volunteers and provided free of charge to every household across the whole of the Parish. Additional copies are left at outlets across the villages of Halberton, Sampford Peverell, Willand and Uffculme for the general public. Advertising rates are set by the (HPC) and are reviewed on an annual basis. The Parish Council has the right to revise advertising rates without prior notice being given.
